2011 expanded reissue of "Heavy Hitters", a 2005 covers album featuring Schenker and a revolving all-star cast of guest musicians.
In 2008, it was re-released as a Michael Schenker solo album under the title "Doctor Doctor: The Kulick Sessions" and included four additional tracks — "Save Yourself", "Finding My Way", "Doctor Doctor" (instrumental) and "War Pigs".
This latest re-release, entitled "By Invitation Only" contains all the previous cover tracks supplemented with the IRON MAIDEN cover "Run To The Hills" with Robin McAuley, a track which originally appeared on the IRON MAIDEN tribute "Numbers From The Beast".

Hayate - Silent Promises EP (2011)

AYATE is a melodic rock project from Greece that we need to look out for in the future.
These guys have listened to some classic USA / Euro rockin' AOR bands for sure because when you listen to their songs you can hear clear '80s influences on them.
The band already recorded some songs exposing their abilities.
"Silent Promises" is an effective melodic AOR tune drenched with a fluffy keyboard sound and a strong hookline.
"Free From U" opens with very nice synths and then explodes into a melodic rocker ala '80s White Lion, specially by the guitar riff / sound.
"Lost Boys" is a rockin' tribute to the cult 1987 movie of the same name, featuring a cool refrain and good harmonies. Obviously the band have their heads stuck in the eighties culture and that's a good thing.
It sounds like these songs has been recorded in a hurry, not that they sound bad but the production needs a bit of a face lift.
The singer has a good tone for this genre but here and there the Greek accent can be heard and maybe more studio time would work it out.
But I'm sure these guys will improve on these aspects next time.
Hayate has what it is required for this genre; '80s attitude, a good and clever guitar player / keyboardist (who also wrote the music), a cool vocalist, and most important of all, they know how to write/arrange old school aorish melodic rock songs.
This recording should interest specialized labels for sure and with work on the production part these guys have something on the way.

Tom Waits – Bad As Me 2011 (single)

1. Bad As Me

Turns out the title of Tom Waits' last all-original studio full-length, 2004's 'Real Gone,' was just a play on words. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has just hit back, dropping the single 'Bad as Me,' on iTunes today (Aug. 23).

Waits also revealed some bullet points concerning his upcoming release, also titled 'Bad as Me,' as well as the tracklist. The 13-song album (or 16, if you buy the deluxe edition) drops on Oct. 25 and is available for pre-order now.

Though he's been a musical chameleon over his legendary career, fans will be happy to hear that the sinister single isn't some gigantic departure. And while we might be the same kind of bad as Waits, we certainly can't claim to be anywhere near the same kind of bad-ass. Check out the tracklist and song below.

RED REMEDY is a hard rock group from Sydney, comprising vocalist/guitarist Zach Evans, guitarist Leigh Czerwonka, bassist Adrian Booth and drummer Jess Rossiter.  Oblivion is their debut release so they have obviously spent some time getting the formula of the band right for this eight track EP given they formed in late 2008.  They toured extensively throughout the following years and in 2010 with ex-JERK drummer Lamar Lowder on board as producer, knuckled down in the studio and put forward a solid debut effort full of heavy guitar riffs, angry vocals, thumping drums and rocking bass undertones.Review by Lauren Rafter
The opening track Am I Coming Around brings a dark, punchy start to the album and showcases the various band members’ sharpened talents.  It leads straight into Sinned For, which has a similar hard-hitting sound to track one with howling guitars and a melodic vibe.  I actually didn’t realise it had moved into another song until I checked the track list as both songs are quite similar heavy guitar driven tracks.  One to Blameseparates itself next with a strong bass line at the beginning of the track that draws you in.  Take It keeps the pace of the EP moving along at a cracking tempo.

The fifth track is the slower paced Whipping Boy, which has a restrained vibe to it.  There is a strong bass undercurrent in the track and the vocals are strong, but it seems a bit out of place.  Maybe they felt they should include a ballad-style song on the EP for good measure.  Zach Evan’s vocals have an air of tension and frustration in his annunciation but this track just doesn’t quite cut it for me compared to other tracks.
The sixth and seventh tracks of the EP are Temporary Beings andTunnel Vision, which include some driving drums and wailing vocals.  Tunnel Vision in particular has some ballsy vocals from Evans throughout.
The closing track The Fray is the definite standout track on the album.  The vocals are pushed and it has a higher level of intensity and took me on more of a journey into the lyrics than any of the other tracks.  There is also a DVD of this single included with the EP.
While several of the tracks sounded very similar, this is certainly an EP that could generate a lot of interest for the currently unsigned band.  There is an air of confidence and assertion that I am sure would translate into awesome live performances.  If love a rockin’ guitar then definitely seek them out over the coming months as they support bands such as ENGINE THREE SEVEN and FLOATING ME.

Alex De Rosso's passion for rock guitar began in 1982 in Padova, Italy.

In 1986, after some live and recording experiences on the local scene, Alex joined Dark Lord, a top Italian heavy rock band with international recognition, bringing a new creative impulse to their 1987 album "It's nigh'time"(Tonau Records, Austria). Dark Lord opened for major bands such as The Cult and Saxon. In the same year it was also featured on a cd compilation of the best contemporary european bands "Best heavy metal from Europe"(Third Ear Music, U.S.A. & Mesak International, Sweden).
In 1988 Alex left Dark Lord and joined S.R.B., a top Italian underground band, gaining tremendous exposure and experience as a live act, playing concerts, festivals, and clubs for about 4 years. After that, while collaborating with some rock, blues, and pop artists and bands and teaching in music schools, he developed the idea for a solo project.
In 1995 Alex entered the international scene when Alfa Brunette released in Japan "Alex De Rosso", his self titled cd, and Pick Up Records released it in Europe. The album, written, arranged and produced by Alex, is mostly instrumental and contains two songs with David Reece (Bangalore Choir, Accept) on lead vocals.
The reviews were great everywhere, and in the same year "Music Connection" rated Alex's demo as one of the best 10 demos of the year, the best in instrumental rock.
At the same time Alex signed endorsement deals with ESP guitars, Seymour Duncan pickups, VHT amplification, and De Salvo strings, playing in music conventions and fairs like the Namm Show in Los Angeles, the Frankfurt Musikmesse in Germany, and the Interexpomusic & the Disma Music Show in Italy.
In 1997 Alex started to record his second album "Ossimoro". This album is total a expression of his artistic guitar style, where he is author of music and lyrics, producer, back up vocalist, and of course guitarist. The cd was released in Italy on Pick Up Records in 1998, in the U.S.A. on Quantum Records in 1999, and later in Europe on Rokarola/Music Avenue.

2002 was an eventful year - as well as the release of his third album "the thin line between black and white", Alex was asked by Don Dokken to take over guitar duties when John Norum (Europe) left Dokken's European tour in June.
When Dokken took part in the Metal Edge Rockfest along with Ratt, Firehouse, L.A. Guns and Warrant in the summer of 2002, Alex was called on again to be part of the line-up, and he was back on the team for the 'Mmm...Nice Package' tour which began in January 2003, when the line-up was Dokken, Whitesnake and The Scorpions.
In the middle of all this, Alex recorded as lead guitar player the album "Vertigo" featuring Joseph Williams (TOTO) on lead vocals, and for the album "Perfect World" with Kelly Hansen (Hurricane, Foreigner) on vocals.
Back in Italy, after the Dokken days, in early 2004 Alex started to work on some productions @ the cube, his own recording studio.
One of them was "Shadows Fade", featuring Kevin Chalfant (The Storm) on vocals.
But in the meantime Alex started a new great hard rock band with a great vocalist.
so Headrush will be the name of the band, and Roberto Tiranti (Labirynth) will be the singer.
After months of writing and recordings the first and self titled a
lbum of Headrush is ready, and it will be released the 21st of March 2005 in Europe by Frontiers Records, and by King Records in Japan.
2008 is the perfect year for the release of King of Balance “A rockwalk through the TOTO years”,
a tribute to one of the greates rock bands ever and one of alex’s favourite, TOTO.
The album is produced by Alex, and many friends are involved in the project: Timothy Drury (Whitesnake, the Eagles), Stef Burns (Huey Lewis, Y&T, Alice Cooper, Vasco Rossi), Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth), Michele Luppi (Killing Touch), and many others.
And now in 2010 Alex is currently working on the production of his fourth solo album, with the participation of some of the greatest guitar players on the planet !

Review:
Prior to receiving d.g.a.f. I knew absolutely nothing about Juliet's Vice -- although the name did illicit thoughts of the ever so tasty Juliette Lewis. I put the band's newest platter in my player and from the opening note of "Never Gonna Change" I was ass deep in the tastiest, sleaziest hard rock this side of Joe LeSte's Beautiful Creatures.
I'll be damned if these magnificent bastards from Philly didn't beat me unmercifully about the head and chest with their brand of raw, unadulterated attitude-laden swagger-fueled hard rock throughout the entire d.g.a.f. disc. That's right, every song is pitch perfect -- there is no filler here... NONE! The rhythm section switch between this CD and the band's 2009 debut Decadence & Romance must have given Juliet's Vice the kick they needed because the haunting "Subliminal Seduction", the sleazy "Lost Little Angel" and the guitar riff in the title track are all great.
If you're looking for bands to compare Juliet's Vice with, my take was/is Bang Tango meets New American Shame. There are obviously heavy nods to early (emphasis on EARLY) Guns N' Roses, L.A. Guns and Motley Crue, but I also hear and feel a heavy dose, especially in the attitude and musicianship, to Warrior Soul (think "Punk And Belligerent"). The band itself has a pretty good pedigree already, playing in some fairly well known bands, but I won't drop names today, just do a quick search and you'll see that they've earned their stripes and certainly deserve a little appreciation for their efforts and contributions to the sleaze rock genre.
I love d.g.a.f. (short for 'don't give a fuck'), so go buy it! 'Nuff said. There's your review.
