Bridger featuring Terry Ilous (XYZ, Great White), Glen Bridger (Head East), Greg Manahan (Head East), Sam McCaslin (Michael Schenker, Carmine Appice) 
Bridger is the namesake solo album from guitarist Glen Bridger. Glen steps out of his role as the current lead guitarist for classic rock band Head East to offer ten original songs of AOR and melodic rock, and one tribute song. Vocals are handled by Terry Ilous (XYZ, Great White), bass by fellow Head East mate Greg Manahan, keyboards by Sam McCaslin (Michael Schenker, Carmen Appice), and oddly named fellow, Danzoid, on drums.

Of course, a solo album is to feature the principle player, and Bridger's skills as song composer and guitarist are quite impressive throughout. He successfully navigates the music he knows best, melodic hard rock in the AOR vein. There rock anthems ready arena play in Tuesday Afternoon, How Long, and Good To Be Home. Rock rules on the heavier, but instantly accessible, Don't Push Me and the smoother Gonna Get Better. Bridger has an uncanny ability to weave tight melodies, a rock groove, and mammoth hooks in all these songs. Yet, Bridger offers some blues flavor, the ballad-like number On the Ledge. To the ballads, Without a Sound, Live for the Moment, and Once in a Lifetime balance skillful song craftsmanship, usually the blend of acoustic guitar with vocals, with necessary emotion.
However, with all this praise for his skills, I think Bridger is upstaged on this debut by his lead vocalist Terry Ilous. His ability to move from the smooth sensuality of Live for the Moment to assertive rocker on Don't Push Me, as only two examples, is simply masterful. Frankly, his contribution is quite significant; I wonder if Bridgerwould have sounded this good with somebody else behind the microphone.

As a final note, Bridger in company pay tribute to Ronnie James Dio by covering his classic song for Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell. Call it Sabbath 'light' or an AOR version and, leave it at that. But, it is good.
Glenn Bridger's self-titled solo debut is a striking and entertaining platter of well composed and well played AOR melodic rock, only made better by the vocal performance of Terry Ilous. Strongly recommended.

“Little Crystal”, “Going Down”, “Coming Home”, insieme alle nuovissime “Time” e “Set The Night On Fire”, sono frammenti di scintillante hard vecchio stile, rappresentative di un songbook ancora limitatissimo nei numeri ma già parecchio convincente nel valore, bilanciato con sapienza tra spunti corali dagli accenni quasi Hair Metal e scintille di polveroso rock blues dal sapore assolutamente autentico e sincero.Visti qualche mese fa dal vivo, in occasione del tour europeo a supporto degli Adler’s Appetite, gli inglesi Knock Out Kaine rappresentano una delle proposte di maggior potenzialità in ambiti puramente hard rock, sorte entro i confini britannici da un sacco d’anni a questa parte.
Coinvolgenti, elettrici, dall’attitudine genuina, i quattro londinesi racchiudono in poche note tutta l’energia e l’impatto dirompente che sono stati caratteristiche basilari dei grandi precursori del genere, partendo da Twisted Sister, Stryper, Warrant e Kiss, per abbracciare l’anima glam di provenienza americana, quella cara ai classiciMötley Crüe e Poison.
“Set The Night On Fire”, primo Ep davvero “ufficiale” del gruppo (ampliamento del demo "Kandykaine" edito nel 2010, ed interamente ascoltabile in streaming) propone una manciata di brani che ben esemplificano la purissima essenza “rock” della band, sostanzialmente fondata sulla trascinante personalità del singer Dean Foxx (un ciclone anche sul palco) e sulla verve di Jimmy Bohemien, chitarrista di primissimo livello.
Episodi che riportano con la memoria indietro nel tempo, rimembrando proprio i selvaggi Twisted Sister degli anni ottanta per l’esplosività adrenalinica messa in campo, mescolata ad un ottimo senso melodico che contribuisce nel rendere i brani freschi e d’immediata efficacia.
L’augurio è di ritrovare un quartetto così quotato e talentuoso, pronto per la chiamata discografica che – viste le prospettive davvero notevoli – non tarderà ad arrivare.
La celebre rivista Kerrang si è già accorta di loro, premiandoli come la miglior live band senza contratto del 2010. Siamo pronti a scommettere che non trascorrerà molto, prima che qualche attenta label metta gl’occhi su Dean Foxx ed i suoi Knock Out Kaine.

Revengine has been rocking Scandinavia since 2007 with what they describe as their “multi-flavoured ass-kicking rock”. 2 self-recorded promotional albums later, they’ve released their first official 6 track EP – Plan Your Escape.
Describing Revengine’s sound is difficult to explain – in some songs, they reminded me of a younger Metallica, whilst at other times they just screamed stoner rock. One thing I can say for sure is that vocalist/guitarist Antti Jokiranta sounds a lot like a melodic Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom), which isn’t necessarily a bad thing at all!

SCOTT ROLAF / JOE LYNN TURNER – Light Of Day (2011)

Today, we are here talking about him because a new super group has formed around Rolaf.
The band consists of Scott Rolaf on guitars, Joe Lynn Turner on vocals, Muzz Skillings on bass, splitting the snapping of the skins are Thom Suntag and Paul Ciraolo, and rounding it up with the Hammond Organ nd Synths we have Jack Ciraolo.
Rolaf says; " This line-up is absolutely incredible! And it's a dream come true to have Joe Lynn Turner as the singer. I was growing up listening to Deep Purple and Rainbow and sharing stories about him with my friends as a kid.
And now, to co-write and headline with him, one of the top vocalists of all time and a true legend, is just a dream come true. "
" With Muzz Skillings, I've been writing, recording and playing with for the last 14 years. He is the best bass player I have ever played with. He has a very unique style in and of his own. He is very versatile as well.
Muzz plays a great acoustic guitar, and is an excellent vocalist. I love the uniqueness of this group of guys. "
The result is "Light Of Day", also known as Rolaf-Turner Project, a really fantastic collection of songs in the best '80s tradition, MR / AOR rockin' tunes full of magic.
This is among the best material performed by Turner since the eighties. Truly.
The vintage hard rock flavor of "Spinnin' Round", the awesome melodic rocker "Break The Chains", or the classy, acoustically driven "Don't Tell Me Goodbye" are real gems.
But there's much, much more.
The brilliant ballad "Lost In Love" is a highlight, the bluesy-AOR of "Broken" has tons of emotion, the melodic mid-tempo ballady of "Find My Way" shows class and emotion and "My Life" is pure melodic rock bliss.
All these tracks were finished around 2009/2010, but here is also a new 2011 track sung by David Cagle, "Throwing It All Away", a top class modern melodic rock diamond, and an instumental; "Northern Lights" where Rolaf shows how good is with the 6 strings, clearly influenced by Leslie West and Jimmy Page.

Mr. Scott Rolaf, is a perfect example of the many smaller rungs it takes to climb that ladder of recognition. Almost a silent resource for the major leagues, the dictionary will spell out the definition of endurance, patience and technical skills as only Scott Rolaf can.
With the force of Joe Lynn Turner and Muzz Skillings, they are threatening to break Scott Rolaf wide open into the deserved house hold name of arena rock. This is a band of musician's musicians.
The "Light Of Day" is starting to shine, and I can't you recommend enough this very, very good CD. It's like a 'lost' Joe Lynn Turner album, and a statement of Scott Rolaf's talent.
Scott is offering this album for promotion, in fact, it was sent to me by himself.

nowadays, we find him releasing his album titled "So Much To Say", which its recordings and production started long time ago. In this album, George Grunwald had the help from a numerous session musicians and the recording was part-finished between three countries; Danemark, Poland and Sweden!! The backing vocals were recorded at Bill Champlin's studio in Los Angeles. What we are going to hear from "So Much To Say" is a well-played AOR stuff with some westcoast influences but, also, some Pop rock pinches as well that will please every single fan of this gerne!
Poco tiempo atrás comentábamos las reediciones de algunos discos de DAVID ROBERTS. Siguiendo en la misma línea musical, tenemos a este trabajo de GEORGE & G. Más precísamente el proyecto deGeorge Grunwald, un músico de origen polaco y críado en Suecia, luego se radicó en Estados Unidos y más adelante volvió a Suecia, su actual residencia. El talento de George comenzó a desarrollarse a partir de su adolescencia y debido sobre todo a una larga tradición familiar con la música. De hecho, su padre era un excelente pianista de música clásica. "So much to say" tiene un toque a lo TOTO, CHICAGO, CHRISTOPHER CROSS, entre otros. Digamos que es un disco muy melódico, cuyas características compositivas se enrolan en eso que suele llamarse Westcoast. La composición y grabación han sido elaboradas durante varios años, lo que demuestra un trabajo de excelente calidad y una gran producción. THE ITCH – SPREADING LIKE WILDFIRE 2011

Boy, have I been waiting for this one! Ever since they released their four track CD single I’ve been waiting for the boys to get their stuff together. Now they have, and I love it! I’ve been following guitarist/singer Lukas since his (very) young days in bands like The Booze Brothers and he’s always had a great blues rock vibe to his playing. Even though he went a bit astray with doom/horror rockers Tenebre, he’s now found his home again. This is pure brilliant bluesy hard rock in the vein of bands like The Answer, Electric Mary, Roadstar and actually with a touch of The Hellacopters in their prime in songs like (3). Lukas is not only a great guitar player but also a classy singer. Besides the rockers there’s a really nice bluesy acoustic ballad with a touch of vintage Point Blank. One cool thing is the trade-off solo in the middle. As a contrast the subsequent track (10) rocks it in a true really heavy Zeppelinesque way and a riff that really hits home. This is a pretty diverse album ranging from straight ahead rockers to heavy riffsters and the acoustic interlude. Highly recommended!

Demon Doll Records and the boys have teamed up for the 4th time to bring you the split CD '5 & 5' which includes the last 5 songs ever recorded by the group under the moniker 'The Things'. These were incredibly difficult to come across but well worth the wait!
In 1994, times were changing on the world famous Sunset Strip but the boys were still swinging. They absolutely tear the cover off the ball as they unleash yet another sonic assault!
This dynamic masterpiece is a split CD featuring 5 re-mastered songs from Swingin' Thing that have not appeared on any other Demon Doll release to date. This CD includes the studio version of "All That Glitters", "Hazy, Lazy, Crazy Daze Of Summer", "For You", "Cats Got Your Tongue" and "Hey Kidd".

In addition are the last 5 songs ever recorded by the 5 piece including the ferocious, gutter induced punk rockers "Addicted", "Negative Trend" and "Truth Decay”, as well as covers of X's "Desperate" and Adam Ant's "Press Darlings".
Another trip to the vault brings us back yet another lost treasure from Paul, Sunny, Michael, Chris & Henry! This officially completes the Swingin' Thing / Things collection! They have now proudly released 42 songs and every single one them kicks our freaking ass!

Soren Andersen – Constant Replay (2011)

Mike Tramp guitarist and Glenn Hughes touring guitarist Soren Andersen debuts at age 37. Most sidemen have a dream of being the one in center of the spotlight. Therefore "Constant Replay" is natural progress in Soren Andersen's career. Soren takes advantage of being in charge since he has written all songs, sings, plays guitars and also produces.You can't fault Soren Andersen for his playing or the production. The result is top notch professional work. Andersen's  guitar work is spotless and the production is great only underlining that Andersen is a good producer with experience since he already has produced a dozen albums.  The music is diverse and spans within all aspects of Rock music. The album is a grower but yet I have this love/hate feeling about it since it has both ups and downs.Soren Andersen is a very likeable person and I wish that I could honor this album with top grades. However, Soren's voice is too anonymous and his sparse range weakens an entire album with his vocals only. Leave Me Alone becomes too meat and potatoes and the bluesy So Many Faces illustrates the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. HydeLove/Hate thing. Andersens playing is wonderful and his choice of tones is tasty, but the vocals are not expressive at all. Soren Andersen sound best when he blasts off Jellyfish inspired Rock on Glitterworld, the modern Black Lady, the straight forward rocker Cold Shock and the groovy Catch me if you Can  "Constant Replay" has some great moments, but there is work to be done to make a killer follow-up. Maybe Andersen should stick to being a sideman for now - the latest Mike Tramp's release "Stand Your Ground" is a perfect example of Soren Andersen when he sounds best."Constant Replay" is a good album, but yet a bit disappointing coming from Andersen. There certainly are both hits and misses, but overall the record deserves a listen if you are into melodic rock.  Like stated earlier I have a love/hate relation with the album, so I advice to listen before purchase.

Karmakanic – In A Perfect World (2011)

Jonas Reingold, taking a different course of actions from many of his peers has returned with his band, KARMAKANIC, to show that the Progressive rock ain’t and it shouldn’t be a series of show-offs and that the song-writing still holds a meaning in the genre. And for that, in his latest album ‘In A Perfect World’ he combines and fuses excellently, Art Rock of the mid 70’s, Jazz, Mambo(!), something from the synths so dominant in the Progressive of the 90’s and a spice of classic music.
The most striking and radio-friendly song here is ‘Can’t take it with you’ which opens with a Mambo tune and becomes kind of heavier in the process, with a Rap feeling at times, catchy, a song which is a pleasure to listen to. ‘1969’ brings to my mind the pink bubble of the late 60’s, people talking about revolution and flower power in order to become the greasy yappies in the 80’s. Musically speaking the Art rock is dominant in this song. It is not a song that would leave you with the impression of “never- heard-before” yet it is still impressive if not for any other reason but because it manages to have a cool basic theme melody, continuity, coherence and density. Actually all these elements are felt throughout the album.
Another one characteristic of the album is the use of syncopations and of the blue notes. To continue a bit about the songs, the last track, ‘When fear came to town’, is melodic with the acoustic guitar to add emphasis and emotion to the lyrics yet the addition of the synths in the first part of the song manages to spoil a part of it whilst in the second part things are counterbalanced by the Jazz and Pop feeling. The whole album proved to be a wonderful listening experience and renewed my faith in Progressive rock. Highly recommended album!

7th Heaven – Pop Media (2011)

"Pop Media" is a collection of fun, catchy Rock&Pop songs that can transcend numerous generations. A feel-good, easy listening CD. I still prefer 7th Heaven's rocking side (which isn't absent here) but I respect how they're willing to try different styles, and on many songs here, they succeed. The band's sound is a little programmed at times, but that's their high-tech style that has been constant since the start. 7th Heaven always delivers the goods and they always deliver great value. One of the hardest working indie bands that deserves world recognition. Good Stuff

MORROW’S MEMORY – MOVING FORWARD 2011

- Which band's album is that between Taking Back Sunday and Theory of a Deadman? Oh, that's just Morrow's Memory. One of our favorite record stores,Dearborn Music, is now stocking our album! MORROW’S MEMORY: The band started as a creative rock project between long time high school friends and former band mates, Zach Novak (Drums) and Joe Wolford (Lead Guitar). Additional members were added in the following order: Tony Fitchett (Lead Vocals), Brian Sasanas (Vocals and Guitar), Scott Sarnia (Bass) and Mike Fritz (Keyboard).
HOW DID THE NAME “MORROW’S MEMORY” COME ABOUT.
MORROW’S MEMORY: We went through a very tedious and vigorous process of compiling band names between the six of us and some of our friends, which left us with over two-hundred names to work with! It was important that we came to an agreement on something that we all liked. We narrowed it down further and further and ended up with “Morrow’s Memory”. That particular name was one of Joe’s ideas. It stemmed from the concept that everything in life becomes a memory of tomorrow.
IS AN EP OR FULL LENGTH IN THE WORKS AT THIS TIME? IF SO, WHEN WILL IT RELEASE?
MORROW’S MEMORY: Currently we have written ten songs and recorded six of them at Minx Recording Studio (Farmington Hills, MI). We will most likely skip doing an EP and go straight to releasing a full length album. We plan to record the remaining songs in a few different sessions throughout the year and hopefullyrelease the album this year (2011).
WHO PRODUCES YOUR BAND’S MUSIC?

MORROW’S MEMORY: We write our music using a collaborative approach in which we all have a say. Members will write individual parts or songs and present them to the band. We then decide (as a band) whether or not we want to move forward with each particular part or song. After that, there is often some fine-tuning involved before it fully exemplifies the “Morrow’s Memory sound”. We don’t have an outside producer, but we do respect the opinion of whoever is recording us, as long as our tastes align.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR MUSIC TO THOSE WHO HAVEN’T HEARD IT YET?
MORROW’S MEMORY: Sophisticated rock accented with strong musicianship and melodic vocals. Our professionalism and need for perfection shows in our songs. The music we write is something that we want to really hold up against the test of time and hit home with a lot of people. It needs to feel good, be empowering and sometimes even “hurt so good”.
WHAT IS A LIVE MORROW’S MEMORY SHOW LIKE?
MORROW’S MEMORY: Fog machines, sounds you wanna turn up so loud it blows out your windows, custom lights, and people moving to our music and singing along. Once you have heard people cheering for “one more song”, there really is no going back…ever. It’s addicting to us! Our first show opening for a national act (Cold) will be on April 2nd at Harpo’s and it’s going to be intense! We will also have a CD release party sometime in June. WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AS FAR AS RADIO PLAY?
MORROW’S MEMORY: We are currently receiving some airplay from 89X (88.7 FM) and have also been featured on some internet-based stations. We plan to work toward getting our music out to a mass amount of college stations, internet stations and other major stations.

MORROW’S MEMORY: We’d like to say thanks to Detroit Live Magazine for this awesome opportunity, but more importantly we’d like to thank each and every single one of our fans for coming to our shows and being so supportive and patient while we record this first CD. It’s only with their help that we have become as popular as we are now. You guys rock! Keep spreading the word!
Additionally, we wanted to say that we are truly in this for all of the right reasons. It’s because we love the music and want to share our passion. We want people to listen to the meanings in our songs and walk away feeling that natural high you get from a good tune. None of us could ask to write and perform with a better group of guys!
